Cricket is one of the most popular and exciting sports in the world and is often called a game of skill, strategy, and teamwork. It is especially loved in countries like India, where people follow matches with great passion. The game is played between two teams of 11 players each, using a bat and a ball. The main aim is to score more runs than the opponent team.
Players bat, bowl, and field to win the match. A batsman scores runs by hitting the ball and running between the wickets or by hitting boundaries (4s and 6s). The bowler tries to get the batsman out, while fielders stop runs and take catches.
There are three main formats of cricket:
- Test Match – played for 5 days
- One Day (ODI) – 50 overs per team
- T20 – 20 overs per team (fast and thrilling)
Cricket teaches discipline, fitness, teamwork, and leadership. It brings people together and creates a spirit of sportsmanship and unity.
